Im reading overalls english prelim exams in preparation for NeXT year and am gettin confused on how to structure a prelim answer.it i get a question like 'to what extent do films give us insight into life',what do i write in each paragraph like intro,Etc. For a "to what extent type question" which is alwayz common Thnx.

Yeah, seriously, stop posting your prelim stuff under year 10. But if your only doing prelim this year, chill! you will go through all of that in class. if you dont get it by the end of the year, ask your teacher but seriously, dont start studying for prelim yet..there is extremely little point.

A "to what extent" is great because you can argue that what the question is saying is only true to a certain extent, and you can then bring in your own points... if you get me? You can start off with something like: the text ___ explores this concept to varying extents...

Well it depends on the position you decide to take, doesn't it. your conclusion, which should always be as short and sweet as possible, just reiterates what you've tried to prove in your paragraphs. So if you decided that a person is bad but only to a certain extent, sum that up in one sentence and shove that (neatly) into your conclusion. to end it, just clearly state what your trying to prove.

Again, it all depends on the essay. Its a lot easier to look at these sorts of things if you have an essay question. But I guess you could use words like minorly or minutely or borderline or significantly or substantially..stuff like that. Is that sort of what you were after?

Example: Overall, the text of (insert text here) goes to great lengths (use words such as large, significant, great etc) to prove that belonging is a natural part of the human condition. This is explored through various ways, such as: (re-state your points from body and list the associated techniques). As a result, the audience gains knowledge of the significant extent belonging plays in the development of the human condition.

This probably makes no sense, but it is just an idea of how to structure a conclusion using judgement adjectives.
