NY Times said:
The attack on the Australians took place in the Nish District of Kandahar Province, at a forward operating base used by Australian troops to train the Afghan National Army. Gen. Abdul Hameed, the commander of the Afghan National Army’s 205th Corps, said an Afghan Army trainee opened fire on his Australian trainers, killing three of them as well as an Afghan interpreter. At least nine others were wounded, General Hameed said, seven of them Australians.

“We don’t know the cause of this shooting yet, and we are investigating,” he said. “The soldier was not new, the first phase of his training was completed and he was in the second phase of his training.”

Other Afghan soldiers killed the attacker, he said.

I know right!

how long are we gonna be there?
how much more is it gonna cost us?
how many more people do we have to lose before we realise that it's pointless? 5000? 10? 20?

some estimates say 2020 or later, there'll probably be british/americans there in 50 years... Aussies will leave within a few years tho

lots

not nearly as many as the afghan people are losing to the taliban every day, some of them kids

To fight the Taliban until the Afghans are capable of doing it themselves.

Leave an atomic present.
uh yes must spread more

anyways, leaving afghanistan in its present situation would be letting it return to a cesspool of muslim/taliban rule and eventually a hub for terrorist organisations. and, of course, they will remember who was occupying their country for over 10 years.

don't think allied forces can 'just leave', unfortunately.
