I'm sure most people are familiar with the green 'mathaid template' that we are allowed to bring into the maths exam (and by extension: the various science exams - probably even english if we wanted to)

Can someone please explain how to use them? the people in my class all have them but we've never been instructed on how to properly use them

I get that they are useful for exact trig values, drawing graphs, lines and shapes - but honestly i know and can draw all that stuff without it, so what else are they useful for?

I think it's just for speed but if you're not too familiar with it then just stick with your free hand. What's wrong with doing it the way you've been doing it this year? No point in trying to work out what to do with it in the exam room/the day before the exam.

thanks, good point
I've had it for all of my exams since year 11 but I've never really used it...

I hate how the sin curve carved into the template at the very top is way off!! Grrrr =(
Like the endpoints and where the x intercept should be are misaligned
So I always have to use the tiny ass other sin curve.

In standards packages from a few years ago, the people used pens to draw all graphs, so I'm assuming its ok to use pen.
