Anyone else here doing Hamlet for paper 2?
I'm stressed about this one the most since I have no idea how to prepare for it.
What do you think the question will be on?

For Mod B, if they specify certain speeches for the people who are doing speeches does that mean they will specify certain scenes for Hamlet to make it fair?

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think so. But I reckon the chances of specifying for Hamlet is low since no one memorises quotes from each scene.

Not sure about speeches.

Same, but wouldn't that give the people not doing speeches a somewhat unfair advantage over us?

I doubt BOS would do that(I hope).

EDIT: They didn't do it for Emily Dickinson if that helps.

I'm pretty sure if they mandate for one text, they will have to mandate for all texts and the sheer impracticality of doing this and making sure each mandated scene/poem/essay are of same difficulty puts them off

I highly doubt they will specify a speech...they have never specified a skrzynecki poem so I doubt they will specify a speech, especially when there are 7. I really hope they don't anyway...I'm preparing 2 and having 2 for backup.

You guys realise how horrendous the marks for Hamlet would be if they said something like "In the "oh that this too too sullied flesh would melt..." soliloquy suggest how amplitudes of emotion has allowed Hamlet to endure ages of shit idk"

So I don't think that would happen - cause it will favour a select few and absolutely annihilate the plenty

The syllabus for hamlet focuses on the textual integrity and a text as a whole.. So picking specific scenes will be going against the syllabus and they can't do that. It's most probably based on one theme or idea though so preparing with a broad response is the way to go

Prepare for a few themes and hope for the best.

They've asked 2 fairly rotten questions for the last two years, but they were still answerable, if you bend your themes here and there.

hahahah try find someone in your grade who has notes on all the speeches. I think ill do that ot get a brief overview

No, they will just assume it was a focus in the class room and it is highy unlikely they would get all your essays as they come in bunches of 20 and go by student number.
Besides, similarities are bound to happen.

Nah, you're probably not in alphabetical order and plus they just assume your teacher taught you all the same stuff
