Hey just wondering, I put down discrimination as a cause for industrial conflict?? could this be correct?? or would it still be under ethical issues? and would i get it wrong? :O
Well the syllabus dot points are:
Management policy, wage demands, working conditions, social & political issues.
Discrimination comes under social issues, but you need to remember that business studies is all about using the exact terms of the syllabus.
If it was worth 2 marks, you might get a mark for explaining it, but i don't think you'd get a mark for the issue =/

If i decribed the decisional role and then gave examples how this would reduce industrial conflict would this be ok?

umm not too sure, I just said If something like by using grevience procedures managers could handle industrial conflicts effectively for example if Employers and Employees have arisen with a dispute the manager can use a grievance procedure to effectively combat the situation or some bullshit like that :)

i used first informational and said disseminator
then went on and said decisional and said negotiator and kind of summarised

So in this case, the only dot points they're asking for is, 'Responsibilities to stakeholders- reconciling conflicts of interest.'
So you would explain what it means to reconcile conflicts of interest. It says to use an example, so its actually asking for you to make up a hypothetical situation, or use a case study.
Eg. I said that consumers/community wanted businesses to be ecologically sustainable, but owners/shareholders would have problems with this because of the financial costs to them. Hence, at Target a manger proposed that they ban all unenvironmentally plastic bags, and encourage customers to bring their own, or charge 10C for a biodegradable bag. And the problem is solved.

Umm, i think question 21 was specifically focused on business management & change, and employment relations was another question.
So i'm not sure if you would get full marks for that, but if you did some form of explanation you would probably still get some marks.

Well the focus of the question shouldn't be management roles.
But in saying that, i think you could get full marks because you've explained how conflicts of interest are reconciled & given a hypothetical example, which is what's required of the question. And markers always reward whats there, rather than taking marks for what's irrelevant/wrong.

i thought the marketing question was hardest cause it was kind of specific in asking how everything could help them determine their target market

Haha yeah, those questions were a bit difficult.
I was pretty stumped at the first question (don't quite remember what it was now), but it was worth 2 marks, and i wasn't sure what to put. So i just briefly outlined the market research process, and how it could be used to determine the demographics & psychographics of the local residents, and hence determine the target market.

Then primary data: survey of locals to find how often they used hairdressing services, what services they required, as well as taking note of their age, gender lifestyle etc to determine the target market.

Secondary data: Sourcing census material or data from the local council which would provide information on demographics of the locals in terms of age, gender, income, so that they could determine which demographics were dominant in the town and hence target them.

And for the last question i analysed price skimming

is internet acceptable for secondary?
i put down internet to read local reviews and see what local people like about existing/want to see in hairdressers
last q was not too difficult but bro the q specifically said sluts are worried about the other hairdresses and want to quickly establish marketshare so i used price penetration

i was asking for the question about giving an example of how managers can reconcile conflict with two stakeholders lol :) would it still be ok?? haha
