ive been getting 50-60's coming last out of four, while they are getting 90's...
my principal said i shouldnt worry about the trials, coz obviously my ranking isnt going to change
so i should just aim for a 50 raw mark in the actual hsc and that would be considered a very good mark
is that true?

50 raw mark would get you like a 72-74. iirc a 75 in 4U is like the same scaled mark as a 90 in chem. therefore if u did get 50 raw in the 4 unit HSC, that would get u the same mark as like a 88-89 in chemistry, which is still very good.

yeh. but i thought u were talking bout just the HSC exam itself.

yes. but if you aiming for around 75 in the 4U HSC and those other guys get 90s it wont affect u that much. the gap will only affect u if u suddenly decide u want 90+ as your total HSC mark.

hey.. guys i'm also going to be doing CSSA 4 unit on monday

i've been doing past CSSA papers and i'm getting around 50-60% on average ( exam conditions on my own room for 3 hours )
so that's about 60-70 / 120

highest i ever got is like low 70s /120
and i've done like 8 past papers, from 96 - 2002 and 2007
going to do some more tommorow

can i get an E3 for getting 50% in exam?

but what's bugging me is, i can get almost 100% in 2 unit and very high 90s in 3 unit ( and my school assessment mark so far for 3 unit is 99/100)

what do you guys think?

which exam u talkin bout? In the HSC, 60/120 will get u an E3 and 70/120 will get u an E4

hmm imo I found Q1-6 in CSSA harder than the HSC level, but Q7-8 were in par with the HSC, or sometimes easier, me thinks.

nevertheless I got 100/120 in the CSSA 2010 paper, wanted more though but oh well...

good luck for those doing CSSA this week, I won't be doing CSSA though, my teacher is writing the 4U exam

Compared to the past papers I've done (the more recent Independent and CSSA), this has got to be by far the easiest.

Oh lame, I wanted a hard paper

last years CSSA paper was also much easier than the previous years. I think the MX2 syllabus is getting easier and easier and next year they hav MCs lol.
