Re: CSSA Chemistry 2011
that was just simple ratios
that was just simple ratios
Answers were A, C and I guessed the third one. What were your answers to these MCs?
q4 was a calculation question, regarding ethylene being reacted with bromine. Do you remember what your answer was?
I'm preety sure you had to work out which one was not in excess then do molar ratio.s
Another question was what was the geiger counter used for? What is the answer....? There was no simple - detecting radiation
Also do you remember the question regarding the adding of HCl to BaOH, and the pH of the resultant solution. Do you remember your answer?
Yes I got AAnswers were A, C and I guessed the third one.
how did you get 1.86??the bromine one was because of the uv light. which acts as a catalyst for the alkane to react with the bromine water
the geiger counter was for the detection of cracks in metal, i think, cos you use cobalt-60 to detect cracks in metal.
the hcl to BaOH was 1.86
oh yeah fuck it was D. It deffs wasn't A, B or C coz they didn't make sense. I just forgot which was which. What was C for the geiger counter question - wasn't that like treating cancerous patients? How could a geiger counter treat cancerous patients?
And the third one I ended up guessing A
tell me the question again i just remember i got 1.86how did you get 1.86??
Umm it's got a double covalent and a single co ordinate covalent (oxygens)how did u guys do the lewis dot diagram for CO, cos apparently it has a triple bond, 2 covalents and 1 coordinate covalent
Wtf? No.how did u guys do the lewis dot diagram for CO, cos apparently it has a triple bond, 2 covalents and 1 coordinate covalent
RANK 1 is correct- I f'ed that up aswell..Wtf? No.
O can be satisfied by an octet of electrons and C can be satisfied by quartet, right?
Umm ethlyene is mainly obtained by cracking alkanes? It was an alright test. Multiple choice killed my life. What was the answer to the first multiple choice question lol.
Yes thats what i put! alot of kids in my school said it was by fractions of crude oil...Umm ethlyene is mainly obtained by cracking alkanes?
Do past papersGuys i have my chem trial on tuesday and ive done no work whatsoever. what would be my best method of cramming from here, just memorise my notes or do past papers?
FUCK!!!RANK 1 is correct- I f'ed that up aswell..
Looks like I'm probably heading around 80%+ =/
umz, how did you go? sounds like you went well...Do past papers
Before my half yearlies all i did was notes and i went bad. Before these trials i did alot of past papers and it worked wonders!
lol no. Because you can't get it straight from crude oil.Yes thats what i put! alot of kids in my school said it was by fractions of crude oil...
