CSSA Chemistry 2011

Hi guys,

How'd everyone go in the exam?

For me personally, it was quite difficult - there were many tricks within the exam which tested a lot of understanding.

The writing questions were quite do-able and easy, however the calculations were quite challenging and difficult.

I agree, the 5 markers i could do, it was all the small 2 marker calculation ones i didn't like

Re: CSSA Chemistry 2011

I thought multiple choice was really hard...and i noticed i made a lot of mistakes...i always have this thing where my gut answer will be changed at the very last minute, and ends up wrong. GAH!

The rest was okay i think, especially the writing questions...but the calculations were a bother.

Were we supposed to do calculations for the barbecue scenario btw?

Re: CSSA Chemistry 2011

MC was lengthy, and took a lot longer than I expected. Shipwrecks sucked - but we only just finished that.

I thought the 55 marks of short answers were actually pretty straight forward, but I'm not sure, maybe being heavily maths-orientated the calculations didn't seem too annoying. I could certainly imagine how they would cause some difficult though :S

Re: CSSA Chemistry 2011

yeah it asked for the IUPAC name of CO

then you had to show via a dot lewis diagram and explain the coordinate covalent bond
