How long do you spend studying each day?
how do you study? (make notes, read textbooks?)
do you do all your homework? (esp maths extension)

I am hopeless, nearly year 12 and I am not doing anything.
does anyone ever repeat year11?

I spend around 30mins-2hours on maths + ext 1 depending on the topic & how much I understand. English I'm trying to increase it to 30mins-1hour per day as I need to improve.

I study by making notes & doing some questions from past papers. Never study by reading textbooks. Try & put them into your own words instead as you'll remember more.

Yes I do all my homework.

You only repeat year 11 if you get 3 N awards in one subject. So long as you make a decent attempt you'll do fine.

2-4 hours depending on my mood. This may seem kind of strange, but I study by writing random notes out then remembering them. If a concept is too vague, I would go and research outside the syllabus extending my knowledge. I generally place them into dot point format later. Have never done homework. (Naughty Spiral) I set myself own work.

But to answer your question. I don't usually do my homework everyday neither study. But when exam period i go pretty hardcore, hence why i get all stressed out. Don't follow my method, very very bad

I am supposed to study 6 hrs a day six days a week. I used to dodge it all the time, but I decided that I wanted to own this HSC (as much as I REALLY hate it) I get up at 6AM and generally am finished by about 1:30-2PM with time to get extra work in if I have to. But the best is that I can go to work at night (cleaning) and earn some money!

I am at TAFE, so it's a bit different to school.
Can't wait until it's all over!:thrust:

N award is basically you have failed to complete the requirements for a specific task in a course, therefore your HSC may be under jeopardy. As for extension 2 i suggest you game up and start doing some work.

lol. As long as you're keeping up with work, who cares about the amount of time

I don't really think you should classify study into 'amount of hours'. Set yourself up for what you need to do each day. Do questions from your class textbook, and your own textbooks. Ensure you understand the content. Ask if you don't. Make notes according to the syllabus. Attempt past papers.

If you are not doing anything you need to step up your game. As we get closer and closer to year 12 those around you will only work harder and harder. If you are not keeping up you will be left behind.

No, I don't do my homework. I don't get any. So if you don't, set your own.

I am the worst example here. I don't study everyday :p I study intermittently when I feel up to it, but not very hardcore. I intend to step up intensively in Yr 12 though.

Despite this fact, I'm coming 1st/2nd in 9 of my units currently.

I don't really study that much. But during exam periods, its BOSS TIME. But i seriously need to change that.

(PS Does the time i spend procrastinating about studying count? :p)

honestly, i dont study at home at all. let alone do homework
but i have a lot of free periods, i have at least one everyday and i just read over what i learnt today during my free periods.
even during exam times, i pretty much just study the night before :S
but i still manage to get top 10 in all my subjects so i think it really just depends if you are interested in your subjects. i LOVE all my subjects so probably that helps as well...

Hah! I'm exactly the same! I usually stay up all night, and wake up early and just engross myself in that damn textbook! :)
