I always aim to help people.
lol damn you have 9 rep power already...

But yeah, I would help others, and not let them down because I know I'll need them in the end anyway (need them to boost the avg mark in case if I fuck up)

You should probably be aware that this is a competition between you and the other students, and whether they are lying or not about studying, you are up against them. This also regards their future. Don't ever let your guard down feeling confident just because people say they aren't coping so well etc. Because I know, even when I say that, I will do anything I can, finding the best resources etc. to maximise my scores.

As with notes, I don't think that many people will be willing to share theirs (their own sweat and tears), yet if they do, I don't believe they'd be purposely providing you with incorrect info. Make your own notes, make sure you've covered all your content and use a lot of sources while you're at it (good for practise questions). Don't rely on other people to help you.

Not matter if they are your closest friends, when it comes to school, it becomes a different story.

That of course, is just my own experience.

Hope you're well. :)
Use common sense.

THey are most likely studying and probably when they lie it is obvious

Most people can be trusted in prelim. I do one subject accelerated and there is a bit of secrecy going on with some of them but it's not worth it. Helping other people helps you to learn too. That is why studying in a group can be effective.

Just don't overdo the helping part, I had to find that out the hard way...

I agree

The point when someone facebooks you and ask you to send the notes today because they were absent is fine

But when they start asking you for more everyone has to learn to stop

That's why I only help my closest friends the most. They won't bother me at inconvenient times.

I don't understand why some people don't ask the teacher for help. They are there for a reason.

Some people are too afraid to ask, most of them are too embarrassed to raise their hands and say the words "I don't understand".

I get emails asking for help during ungodly hours with assignments, maths and homework. They ask me for help also at lunch time too, usually taking up the whole of lunch.

I get that all the time

really annoys me when i put in so much hard work to achieve a band 6 in my assignments and they piss out a band 4/5 asignment last minute

I always say no

I am not the type of person that says no. When I see a person seeking a question and I have the solution, I cannot bare to not help.

I use to be like that for everything

But since it is HSC time i figure that i would only generally help if it is h/w help or they want me to explain questions

I usually get hey Can you ddo my assignment

There's proof of that on the Maths forums. Spi does the whole working out and in LaTeX too.

I do get asked to do assignments for. It's mainly concepts, once 3 people were asking me for help simultaneously during my study period. I guess I am never getting those 80 minutes back ever.
