I got my first English Advanced assessment result back yesterday..... and I fucking failed ): I would have handled it okay if I half-assed it, but I worked on that thing for the WHOLE Christmas holidays. I think my weakest point was my inability to write fast enough in 40 minutes... I only wrote 3 pages and all the kids around me wrote 7-8 ):

Help.

You're meant to use around 3 - 4 per paragraph, so on an exam condition essay, you should use around 12 - 16.

theres no "meant to use a set number of quotes" its not about piling quotes into your essay. they are there to support your statements

1-3 quotes per paragraph is pretty typical. Writing many more actually hinders you, because you can't actually spend any time analysis them for their effect and technique.

YOUR PAST DOES NOT = YOUR FUTURE - ANTHONY ROBBINS
The question is now what are you going to do now, so that this doesn't happen again?
correct answer:
practice likE WRITE ESSAY AFTER ESSAY AND GET YOUR TEACHER, PROVIDED THEY'RE NOT SHIT, TO MARK IT. work hard and you'll compensate for your marks in the trials and hsx; remember hsc is worth 50% of the weighting. and remember
'DON'T QUIT. SUFFER NOW AND LIVE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE AS A CHAMPION!' - MOHAMED FUCKIN ALI!! - theres only 6 months left until the hsc.
otherwise,
'IF YOU KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS DONE, YOU'LL GET WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS GOTTEN' - ANTHONY ROBBINS

FML! I'm pretty sure I failed too. Cry with me.
The teacher actually took the pen off me.
Maybe we should get a tutor.
