Did you do/say anything that might throw them off side?

If you did absolutely nothing, it seems to me like they're using you/ganging up on you to become closer with each other.

im shy so i didnt talk much during my first year so maybe they thought i was being snobby but thats not true
if i talk to them directly about this it will be weird since they are being bitchy....

If you were being quiet then they probably don't know as much about you as they do about one another, and probably find it a little bit hard to talk with you? My advice, don't talk to them directly about it - it will be weird and uncomfortable. Just try and speak up around them a little bit more. That's all I can think of, sorry.

Did you stay in contact with them at all over the holidays? If not, well there's your answer.

I know people who actively ignores other friends because they are 'quiet' or 'don't talk'. It is a psychology I am unable grasp. As Azure said I wouldn't directly confront them about it. Try to talk to them more but if they remain like that then I suppose finding new friends is the only way to go.

My (old) mates, who I've been friends with for a long time, do this sometimes for absolutely no reason whatsoever... just to be arseholes I guess or to just exclude me for some reason. Usually they stop being retards and want to hang with me later than day or the following.

I'm sure they'll come around, if not, ask what their problem is.

punch em in the face and put em in their place

lol
but seriously, try talking to them some more, maybe they'll come around once they see that you're not a snob
hopefully it all works out for you though ^.^
if not, try expanding your circle of friends, that way you wont give them the impression that you're completely ditching them whilst giving you the opportunity to spend more time with a variety people who value and respect you and your opinions
it may be hard at first but give it a go at least :)
