Bonded means you have to work in places with doctor shortages for a few years, like Alice Springs, Darwin and other shit places.

@ callum- how are you finding the degree?? I'm aiming to get into UWS med, i'm sitting HSC in 2011. Hopefully I'll be able to get a 97/98 ATAR. Ex students from my school have struggled to get in with ATAR's of 97/98. I dunno why seeming as though their ATAR's were very high. Maybe they didnt have good UMAT marks?? How did you go in the UMAT???

I wanna get UNSW Med but I doubt I can get the marks :-(
If I don't make it I'll just go for UWS Med since I'm eligible to apply as a GWS applicant, they reserve half their interviews for GWS applicants and I only need 93.55 ATAR and 140ish UMAT.

Yeah, I'm from GWS as well so I'll be applying for UWS. I heard that to get into UNSW med you need an ATAR in the high 99 range. Btw...what subjects are you really doing??

Well I have only just been accepted for this years intake, but I have heard a lot of good things about it.
My umat was overall 60, or 91%. I believe the cut - off this year to reach the interview stage was 145 weighted (but the year before was only 138). UWS weights the umat 1:1:0.5. So my scores were 58, 58, 63 so 179 overall or 147.5 weighted.
Once you reach the atar threshold, being 93.55, the atar is completed disregarded, so really it isn't going to matter whether you have 94 or 99. The applicants are ranked by 1/3 umat and 2/3 interview. So the interview is what you want to do really well in!
