Calculate the acceleration of a proton on an electric field of strength 4.0 x 10^-5.
The charge on a proton is 1.6 x 10^-19 and its mass is 1.67 x 10^-27

I'm not sure how to do this question. Can someone please explain? The answer is 3832 m/s^2

equate F=ma and F= Eq { ie it is the electric force that is providing the force to accelerate the electron, because the mass of the electron is so small we neglect gravitational forces}
ma=Eq
a= Eq/ m

then make sure you have SI units

Calculate the acceleration of a proton on an electric field of strength 4.0 x 10^-5.
The charge on a proton is 1.6 x 10^-19C and its mass is 1.67 x 10^-27

I'm not sure how to do this question. Can someone please explain? The answer is 3832 m/s^2
E=4.0 x 10^-5 NC^-1
F=? (6.4x10^-24 N)
q= 1.6 x 10^-19
m=1.67 x 10^-27
a=?

F=Eq
= 4.0 x 10^-5 NC^-1 x 1.6 x 10^-19
= 6.4x10^-24 N

Therefore using F=ma

a=F/m
= 6.4x10^-24/1.67 x 10^-27
= 3832 m/s^2

ALSO WHEN POSTING PUT THE SI UNITS ON SO PPL UNDERSTAND AND WRITE ALL YOUR DATA DOWN BEFORE ATTEMPTING QUESTION
