my best friend is not aiming for 99 +.
and shes worried that hospitality is REALLY going to drop down her ATAR even if she does well in it (i.e 80-85 + ? )
if its THAT bad she can drop hospo and keep 2 unit SOR (a requirement if doing advanced at my school) - giving her 10 units.
how much would it drop her marks? say she got 80 in every subject including hospo as opposed to an average scaling subject.
is it THAT BAD. how many atar points APROX? like as small as 2 or as vast as 15 ?
should she drop? im telling her not to. good advice?
APPROPRIATE advice would be great!

if she doesnt need like 90+ ATAR for her uni course i wouldnt worry.

It might not even be included in the best 10 units ( if she keeps it) , also it could be a nice break from the academic sort of things, and if you are looking into a hospitality job ( casual or full time) after school it would be good to keep it.

Doing any VET courses have addtional benefits other than the HSC and the scaling of these subjects as they are also TAFE courses so even completing the courses would give your friend an additional certificate and thus qualification, particularly useful if going for a part-time job in the industry.

As only the top 10 units count in all likelihood Hospitality would be the one not to count if she was to get 80 in all subjects.
