I'm looking for a tutor for a Selective High School Test [my son is in Y5].

No Math please; we are after a tutor to cover English and general abilities only.
Any recommendations?

We line in Rosebery [Eastern Suburbs].
Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks,

Neah, prefer a tutor [we've got Pre-Uni and North Shore not far from us]. Both of them $55-60 per 3 hours session. I think we better pay more or less the same amount for 1.5 -2 hours but one-on-one.

If it's only English and GA, just get the kids to read more, get an electronic dictionary and get the kid to make it a habit to check for new words. Find materials from library suitable for the kid to read at around grade 6 and 7 (even though the kid is in gr5). For GA just make sure the kids do things around the house, use maths to help with every day activities, ... Essentially read a lot and use maths to support activities. There are a lot of books at the shops which are quite helpful. You would not need a tutor. You would to spend time with your son (to go through the materials) though.

BTW, I do provide free trial GA and maths tests on my website. But The ones for SS is now closed. They will be opened again next year around Jan 2011.
