Are we actually doing Belonging, blade runner and frankenstein and all that? Are these like traditions that carry on for centuries?

Belonging will be the AOS until 2012. After that it will probably change.

No point making a new AOS if the world ends in 2012.

Even the markers know it.

i think 4 years is enough for belonging. journeys was 2004-2008, right?

also yea, besides a syllabus change we will still be doing the same modules.

In 2011, your Area of Study will be Belonging.

Bladerunner/Frankenstein is in Module A. You won't necessarily be doing Bladerunner and Frankenstein, although it seems that this is what most people do - apparently it's one of the easier comparative studies.

Module B is the critical study. Most people do Hamlet or Yeats.

I haven't started Module C yet so I don't know what it's about.

The texts that you will study will depend on what your teacher/school decides, but there is a kind of ~framework set out by the Board (eg, you must do one novel, one Shakespeare, one body of poetry, etc.)

Yeh, they generally last 4-5 years and 09 was first.

I think the AOSs usually last four years. That's what I was told, anyway.

klaris and phoenix would be right i think..

belonging is a horrible horrible AOS, just putting it out there so you 11'ers can brace yourself..

Another point is that the National Curriculum is due in either 2012 or 2013 for Year 12 so, knowing that, I think is why the 2012 date is there. There is no need to change the syllabus before then as it will be changing then.

Conflict/journies was easier imo.

I am definitely not looking forward to Belonging, Conflict (our Yr11 AOS) is bad enough. Actually i think pretty much anything will be better than Conflict.
Belonging seems to generic and all that, i guess at least it might not be too hard to subvert and such.

Anyway yeah, just my random 2 cents.

Are you for real. Fml, journeys is what we are doing now. Ahhh, it's not even '11 stuff

Haha, journey is our AOS. is anyone else in the same boat as me? Doing journeys in year 11?

Or are we supposed to. I am so confused right now
