Charities and 'various programs' are not exclusive to christianity.

How bout I get a group of people together, start a war in the name of that group killing millions, persecute people because they are different to me and have sex with little children. Oh wait there is already a group like that called christians.
So have atheists. Your logic is clearly flawed. They did not commit these crimes because Christianity promoted it. Never. Rather its because of humanity's inherit stupidity and sinfulness.

I can as easily say, Atheists are rapists, murders and killed millions more people than Christians. Therefore atheists are evil.

My point is, the Church changes people? It reforms people and make horridly immoral people good Samaritans.
Or it gives horridly immoral people the opportunity to, I dunno, molest children?

Gah I hate that line. Some of us don't believe in sin and don't appreciate being tarred with the "all humans are inherently bad" brush.
Well Im just pointing out facts. Humans murder, rape, are greedy. Even our subconscious are filled with ville things. Now if you dont agree then so be it. I cant change that.

Just beyond religion, literature teaches us the same inherit message. Humanity is amoral. Shakespeare is plagued with these facts.

If Religion had not being there, a large part of Charity would not be there. I am not stating that Church is the sole charity of Australia. But compassion and generosity that is instilled through the Christian heart through Doctrine is pretty amazing.

This is idiotic. In fact the ethic of Christianity has nothing to do with this. However to say that people need to be changed morally is to admit a great arrogance on your part and make the mistake in allowing yourself to be told that you were created sick and must feel bad about it by that which created you, which is a highly brutal concept in itself.

[citation needed]

Where people have gone to war and killed others because of their belief there is no god

thank you
I don't think the Priest molested children because they said to themselves, yea God told me so.

And to be honest, the church did stuff up. But regulations are in place, to ensure the safety of children in churches. What had happened is a human error.

Get stuffed, they were in a authoritative position, probably said to the children "suck on this or satan will eat your soul" or some tripe.

Well I do believe people need to be changed morally. But for argument sakes, lets say some people need to be changed morally, and all for the benefit of society. Thieves, people obsessed with greed to name a few.

Well I believe I was created sick. I know my mind and the horrendous deeds that occur in there. If you don't accept that all people are like that then so be it. I cannot change that fact.

But in history, even in ancient history. Countless of wars have begun over what? Money. Lives have been destroyed for what? Power.

But the sickening moral high-ground they attempt to claim and the disgusting lack of consequence they are presented with by their criminal cover-up of such crimes is born entirely out of their claims of moral and religious authority which is entirely in line with Catholic dogma, and this is the problem here.

What the fuck are you even posting

Yeah they raped kids because they were put in a situation that humans can't generally tolerate, being forced to be absolutely pious and celibate

It's against everything humans are programmed to do.

The church stuffed up by not having these people PROSECUTED. They inculcated a culture where it was acceptable and these transgressions were rewarded with a new fucking flock to rape.

They then responded saying it was "PETTY GOSSIP"

Are you seriously defending them?

It's a human error because the CHURCH IS ENTIRELY HUMAN.

If the pope is infallible (yes he only is ex cathedra I know shut the fuck up) then child rape is acceptable.

Surely if there was a god he would make it so his advocates on earth weren't also advocates for child rape.
Well I dont believe that priests should be celibate. My pastors are happily married and have children. They should be prosecuted and punishment should be heeded. We believe that we must obey the laws of society and be good Samaritans.

But as you said yourself, the church is fallible.

Um, supercalamari, just looking at what Lukybear posted and your response I don't see how /some/ of those groups change people /morally/. No denying though that they've done a lot of good for people :)

Where would society be without the guide dogs for instance? Brilliant concept :) humans and animals working together.

What the fuck is wrong with you.
The people that need their morals changed are the priests raping children.
Not the people in society.
Go fix your fucked up religion before you can even pass judgement on anyone else.

And I agree with you completely. Arrogance fills people that are religious. They are embedded by a unchangeable fascination with the "law" and instead forgets that they too are bad people. I define myself as an Anglican, and that is my belief.

There are many problems with the Church. And as i said many times, they are fallible.

Mainly because the Book they follow is morally, ethically and logically inconsistent, drawing its basis from ancient fables of propaganda and absurd bed-time stories, culminating with God placing humanity in a position he created, when he knew it would be so, blaming them for everything, wiping them out en masse because of it and then deciding to fix the entire thing with human sacrifice.

Yeah, to the the extent where they will just move paedophiles to a new church without reporting anything?

You know what would happen if it occurred at a school? Reported and possibly a murder.
