Question. In the draft agreement, when it says all new full time employees are required to be shown a normal roster and a RDO roster, what exactly do they mean by an RDO roster. is it an uneven 6/4 roster? or a roster with a random day off somewhere or something.
I didn't want to ask at the training because no one else seemed to not know what it was.

I have one day left of running my cash office before my head cashier is back, it's been brilliant, but exhausting. not sure if I'm looking forward to returning to half front end or not. probably am seeing as our new CSM and almost as new 2ic are both fun and kinda cute.

Definitely.

For a store that does between 180 - 200k a week, 4k waste out of that isn't that bad.
your serious? 4 grand per store is massive.

If you saw the total dumps each week you would be stunned! or even known stolen

Massive regional shakeup... a good 42 odd managers got called in to see Leon and were told they'd be moving (up, down, across...)
This is incorrect. Its closer to 30 and 6 liquor managers!

There needs to be a shakeup to send a message. Shape up or ship out, work hard, get rewarded

Here's a fun little idea:

I worked this out the other day, with Meat Dept we get some large hams which come unlabelled, just datecoded.
Now, it is impossible/not easy to find where a list of PLU codes are, not on storenet etc. not in the gun.

I called the largest store in our area and asked, they told me I had to claim the hams after they couldn't find the PLU in their PLU book!

So after a bit of thinking, I got a blank piece of paper in the printer, back office, 5,3,7. Put in reference number (after scanning side of box) and merely printed a Deli (format 14?) ticket, PLU was right there in the black box!
The Next day, Deli 2i/c was going on about how he needed to look on storenet etc.
I explained what to do, store manager suddenly says "watch what you say <name>! You could be a department manager soon saying things like that!"

I lol'd

Also, NC8000, is 0.5% dumps a realistic figure?
We usually get about 2.5%, but yesterday I had no dumps
Today I just had a few claims and one box of mince as damaged.... where my scissors fell out of my RF gun holster and fell sharp end first into the packet. Ah well.

Well my current one is heading to St Clair. The new one is coming from Penrith.
Would you happen to know/be able to find out where the St Clair SM is headed? My old SM :p

Poor guy. SM from Penrith is a twat from memory.

Also lol at thinking 4k waste from 200k sales is good. Your management team should be getting shot. My Coles does 4-5k and we have 7x the sales. The meat manager got grilled last week because his waste was $3 over lol.

Don't know if this is good news or bad news :p

but my Regional Director (from ABS) has approved me to work at woolworths providing the deciscion is reviewed yearly, and if i move roles at ABS to one that deals with woolworths data (we survey them for all our business surveys to get super secret market sensitive data, and get access to their tax return), then i would have to quit woolies. but for now, i can work there, havent told my store yet though :p

I have no idea. But I have heard that he is a really friendly boss and actually good to get along with. Wish he was coming to our store. :(

Excuse my language in your rep comment RE: this

Yeh the St Clair store manager and I got on quite well. He has been there for 3-4 years, surprised he didn't move on sooner. I thought it was only 2 year terms?
He would have been there from end 2006 or early 2007.

working in smokeshop makes me realise how stupid the broader public are.

two seperate kids tonight - two ids.
one - August 92 - err you know you're not 18 right?
second - March 93 - dude, you're not even old enough to have a drivers licence? (someone else later told me it was a moped licence)

and that doesn't even include the rest of the idiots.

It's not that stupid. Many people see people giving ID over and expect them to be 18+.
My friends and I went to a bar, one of us was 17, the bouncer saw his license but didn't even read the DoB. good night out! It works more than you think
Just gotta be confident

I signed my soul away to woolworths tonight. Got called in to relief SM's office and got told that unless I become part-time my hours would be cut to save money.

At least my hours aren't going to get the chop when budget cuts starts happening soon. :)

I am really confused about one thing though. I am rostered to work monday 17:30-20:30. On my part time roster it says that it starts on the 01/03/10, which happens to be a public holiday in WA. However as a casual they cancelled my Monday shift. Does that mean I am entitled to be paid for the Monday if they tell me not to come in?
