So Macq Uni (North Ryde) starts 22nd Feb. but then i go on 'important dates' on the site, and on the week of the 15th of Feb, there is Academic Orientation Week?

first time ive seen this. i thought orientation week was four days from the 22nd of feb :S

Go to this, Home | Transition: Academic Orientation and Mentor Program | Macquarie University.

You only go one day that week, depending on your course. You have to register on that site and it will tell you the day, time and location.

I figure it will be worth going. Its only one day after all and they put you in groups with people that are doing the same course as you so it will be a good opportunity to meet people.

But i guess its all up to you...

I think it's worth going for the uni/library tour and the info on how to use the student websites.

Make sure you go to academic orientation! It's a great way to make new friends and to start learning your way around campus so on the first week you aren't so lost. Also there is a free BBQ!!!

I would recommend going too. I went to academic orientation & made some friends. We stayed friends for our whole degree. I found Mac uni can be a little hard to make friends because people come in a group from high school together.
