So im transfering from a BA after a year into BA with Education (Humanities and Social Science).

I did the necessary english and History and Ancient units.. so when I go through the enrolment process tomorrow.. how do I go about it?

Do i choose 2nd year arts units? Someone mentioned applying for credit.. ?

Any heads up would be really cool. :)

You'll have to enrol in first year units, so just pick whatever. Once you're enrolled, head over to the Arts Faculty and say you want your English and history units already studied transferred over.

I guess if you're already there head over, though there will probably be a massive line. What you can do though is contact them via email and they'll sort everything out that way. From experience, the email route is pretty easy.

I think you are better off going to the enrolment and speaking to academic advisors as they will help you structure your degree and apply for credit. (I saw a woman on enrolment day doing the same thing) Plus, Sydney Uni takes ages to reply to emails (from my experience xD)

Hey, I sorta want to do the exact opposite of you lol.

So I enrolled into the BEd/BA today, however I want to change my degree to a straight BA. Does anyone know how I'd go about doing this? Whether it'd be through UAC or the university itself etc..

Also, I noticed that you mentioned both history and ancient history. At enrollment today I was forced to choose to specialise in either ancient OR modern, and was told that I couldn't complete both. Just a heads up in case you weren't aware...

Hey Guys,

Well, firt of.. if you want to apply for credit, you have to do so with one of the academic advisors- there was a lady there that specialised in that sort of thing- so not the Arts factulty.

Also, yes.. the same lady told me I had to specialise in either Anicent or Modern history.. which I didn't know you had to do.. and which kinda sucks, since I really wanted to do both. *fail*

But yes, all is good (Even though it took a hell of a long time):skip:. I got my credit for the ancient/modern/english subjects I did. She also put down related units I completed last year, namley philosophy.

The thing is .. in order for it all to be in order.. and for me to be level on both Arts and Education in my third year.. I am going to have 10 subjects this year, with two extra Education units. Thats going to be a bit heavy.. but hey.

To the comment above: Im not sure how you would go about it.. But I do know that in your third year you can drop Education and graduate with a Bachelor of Arts. Im not sure how you would go about it in your second year though.

Yeah I had to choose 2nd year subjects straight away.. You apply for credit first and then choose your subjects, on the spot.. in the same place. :)

Sorry, I just realised you said you enrolled today. I think you might have to go through UAC. But call the university to check.

Cheers.

I've got to wait til Wednesday to change my preferences and that'll only be for the late February round, so I'm not sure what my chances are of getting into Arts.

Assuming I don't make it into the BA before uni starts, when's the earliest time that I can apply for an internal transfer to Arts?

Oh excellent! I'm doing enrolments over in the Business and Eco Faculty and we've not been able to do that. I'm glad the Arts Faculty is offering a one stop shop! Goodluck with the year ahead!

Mid year I believe. You should be fine though, the university can never have enough Arts students roaming the place LOL

To apply for credit, I submitted the online form on the subjects I did in my previous uni. They then sent an automated email requesting that I send the SIO the course outlines of the subjects I did and my academic transcript. The email also said that it would take 2 weeks for my credit exemption application to be processed.
