I'm about there as well. Probably 97/98. But since it was considered a fairly difficult exam, I hope it's 98 for both are sakes lol.
i hope so :D

if im ranked second internally (by 1 or 2marks), and i come first externally, will my assessment mark be approximately equal to (my external mark) - (mark difference between 1st and 2nd)

HEY GAISE.

if i convert cos^2 x into 1/2[1+cos2x] AND THEN DIFFERENTIATE x.1/2[1+cos2x]

I would say your internal would either be the same, or differ by one mark than that of the student coming first. Doubt it'd be two.

Assuming your answer is right, it's acceptable.

so basically, my internal will be equal to my external with maybe one mark difference?

The question is asking for the probability of getting at least one INCORRECT answer .. not CORRECT

so shouldnt the answer be 1-(1/4)^5
Yeah exactly what I was thinking in the exam. And I let some guy make me think I'm a dumb shit! Well Terry, now look at the position we're in :p

q3thefish sure that's fine, but unnecessarily extra work. It's useful in integrating, but not in derivatives.

do you lose any marks for leaving your probability in factored form?
