they didnt ask how relationships contributed to a sense of "not belonging". a sense of belonging, is not alienation. but hey you may be right, would of been better off totaly answering the question i wuld think though, becaus most ppl didnt. perhaps you should look up a definition of belonging.

hmmm riigghhtt...im not so sure how i went in this section...

my story was this guy thats just got out of silverwater hes like 21, hes been in juvie and prison since he was 13 for murdering this girl when he was a kid and people see him as a monster. then he gets out on parole and struggles to integrate with people and society and cant talk to people, then he finally does but they find out his secret and let the media know and he gets paranoid and depressed, panics and i allude to the fact that he takes his own life...it would be alright except it didnt really obviously link to the "relationships" part of the question, just really subtly, cuz i kinda ignored that part lol

greekmagician mata i not dising, i just saying wat is expected by markers. princton university defines belonging in a relationship like diz "happiness felt in a secure relationship; "with his classmates he felt a sense of belonging" therefore u hav to some way incorporate this, saying u are not hapy belonging in a relationship or sumthing is not realy celebrating it mata.

Fair enough mate... I talked about a persona's relationship with a material object (personified). But ultimately their relationship came from not belonging. I think the markers will get that don't you think?

I did quote 1, and I literally put the quote within my story.

"Human beings, like plants, grow in the soil of acceptance, not in the atmosphere of rejection"

It was about someone who found their sense of belonging through the virtual world and where consumed by the relationships she had in this virtual world- where she was "accepted".

Yet, she had the inability to relate to the real world, because she had a still born child and "switched off" and was in a sense "rejected" in the real world. She became deeply depressed, hence couldnt "grow" in the atmosphere of rejection, So this virtual world was a place, a sanctuary where she found a way to belong.

Her husband had to make a avatar user so he could actually connect to his wife.
All VERY TRAGIC...

The ending sentence is "we tried to make a life. Instead we lost two"

Any way, it sounds crap when I summarise it so ill stop now.. Im just hoping it will do well coz it was quite different!

What evs.

So did people incorporate the quote into their story?

A SENSE of belonging doesn't exclusively mean belonging. If you were so smart, you'd have worked that out. It means both belonging and not belonging.

Fk man some people.

possibly. if you had of incorporated relationships more, and the benefits of them, it would of boosted you more so. people are saying they said relationships contributed to a bad sense of belonging, although i do not beleive that is exactly celebrating it, it do not ask to address belonging from its binary opposite alienation, therefore ppl shuld read the rubric if they are unsure of what i mean.

mine celebrated relationships in that they make a person feel more accepted and joyful (you'd get it if you read it), but mine differs because, in the end, when the whole system falls apart, they're left with outsiders (non germans) to determine their fate and they reject him because they don't understand his experiences, just like he didn't understand the guy in the newspaper office.

broooo, okkk i'll put it simply, belonging is belonging, its binary opposite is alienation, to experience a sense of belonging, you fit in or watever. how is a sense of belonging alienation a.k.a not belonging. its belongings opposite, and thus not a sense. however im not sure wat u said but if it was the guy belonged in a relationship and didnt like it, then yes thats a sense, as hes not alienated.

I think what you are saying is valid but I still think you can talk about how not belonging can contribute to a relationship that is "celebrated". This is the point that I think many people have wrote about.

I didn't know if I really understood these quotes. I did not belonging but I didn't find how I could incorporate it into these quotes so I chose the second one anyway and did that the second one.

Actually reading the second quote it doesn't really fit in there either lol.
I'm screwed.

the thing is, a sense of belonging includes its opposite - Not Belonging - as in to what extent to people belong or not belong, especially in relationships. I think that while your points are valid, you're being a little black and white about it.

LOL blue butterfly. MMK it's over :D don't burn all your notes (burn english ones though) coz apparently in uni, if the course you did is relevant, they spend the first term going through all of it
