Besides, men beating up women is extremely common. Domestic violence, whether physical, verbal or financial occurs in almost every household. we hear about it in the media all the time.

So myself personally, I'd put a clause in the marriage contract along the lines of
"if the aforementioned dared to lay a finger on me with intent of violence, i demand an immediate divorce."
