Business is a whore
Impossible to get great marks unless you know text book back to front even the little stuff which is barely relevant

To be honest, I think business studies is one of the easier subjects to get good marks in - raw marks I'm talking about.

Back on topic, I'm quite excited about business studies, wanna get it over and done with so I can get it out of my memory and concentrate on english.

Maybe but you can't ignore the fact that it requires:
1 - thorough knowledge on a HUGE range of concepts - 5 topics no options
2 - if you don't understand the concepts (blankly memorise them) you have no chance.

PLUS some of the questions are ridiculously ambiguous like.. in one of the past hsc papers I was going through, the question went something like this:

Which of these is a psychological factor influencing consumer choice:
a) Sitting with family for dinner time
b) wanting to eat healthy stuff
c) choosing this product over this other product because it is higher quality
d) some other random thing

apart from d, all three of those are in some way related to psycology

a) you wanna spend time with family - could relate to culture
b) you think your fat
c) you want to appear wealthy

bad example - I know, but this is the kinda stuff about business studies that really annoys me :/

/end rant

If you rape your syllabus and know it back to front, its gonna do you wonders. I don't like the wording in some of the past HSC papers. So damn ambiguous. And in the exam, you can't exactly bullshit the stuff up. Answers actually have to come out from the syllabus :/

I don't think i'm dead set for business. So much content!

But, i'm gonna feel like a whole weight has been lifted off my back once this exam is over! :uhhuh:

what year paper is it? I think the answer is B, want to check. =]
btw, i don't think the answer would be A since culture = sociocultural factor

But the topics itself are relatively easy - most of it is just an extension of Year 9 Commerce.

I'd agree with you there.

a) I'd say it would be sociocultural because it relates to family
b) I'd pick that answer
c) Because we were given B - I'd eliminate C, because the perception isn't based on the product itself, so it would be less of a perception than b.

Haven't started studying, but I am quite ready...

Everything in business is mostly either self explanatory or common knowledge. Knowing the syllabus and a case study is all there is to it.

I don't actually remember, sorry... I've come across it heaps of times on online multiple choice

I guess that would explain why I did so crap then too.... Well tbh I'm not doing terrible anyway... I think I'm coming top 10 in a class of 40 people so yeh I guess that's not terrible. I'm just used to being in a subject where I can do really well just by enjoying the subject - business studies never really appealed to me

I'd agree with you there.

Business should be one of your easier topics. It's basically a regurgitation of the syllabus. Very little lateral thinking is needed; its basically obvious knowledge and its application. Which is great for study.

See that's the thing, you should know all the syllabus points - I know right now I'm trying to make sure I know every single syllabus point.
