omg. Last night was so busy! My other supervisor was sick so I was by myself from 7pm! The duty manager did my lunch break but he obviously had NFI! lol

Problems with the smoke load (when isnt there) couldnt print the papers, so the smoke shop girl had to write out 7 boxes! It was 11.30pm by the time she finished.

Self Serve registers felt like acting up. The attendant girl was like 'I dont know what to do' I'm thinking then why the fuck are you on self serve idiot. hahaha.

Didnt get the last customer out til 12.10, then I was closing the last roller door and some idiot decides to slide under it. But the security gaurd yelled at him. =D So I had to staty back and get the smoke load away, clean up and fill drinks. Didnt leave till like 1.30am! It has never been that disorganised! It's usually heaps quiet after 10.30pm.

I'm at Camberwell 3221 in Victoria, 4.2. It's the biggest store in Victoria I believe, with 14 big registers, 8 express, 4 self-serve, 3 liquor and 2 smokeshop, with around 1.5 mil+ a week. We're 24 hours and have had the 2010 layout since about July 2008, it looks awesome, only problem is very cramped express lanes.

Yes the Camberwell store is very nice. "The Pilot store" in Melbourne how many registers do you actually use? for example on your busiest day how many express and big registers do you have open?

Ok, here it is: the long-awaited WoWPoS SCO review from me =]

In my opinion the software is really close to being fantastic -
if they can fix up the problems (and do it quickly)
then I think I will be able to safely say that WoWPoS SCO is a
step forwards from NCR - at the moment its not.
You all probably know these problems and have posted them here before but Ill
go over my main problems with it, now that i have used it:

1. the GUI - we all know how damn ugly it is, no debating that, i think the
start & use own bag buttons need to be in a contrasting colour (grey or something)
and perhaps lighten up the background - the dark green is not good! Put a big W/apple
logo or something on there! its so damn boring!

6. green bag support - i thought this was supposed to be the main improvement! i very rarely saw
a green bag that worked, even when the customer presses 'own bag' it still says unexpected item, and
exactly the same thing for 'New bag' - something is wrong here!!
7. the way reduced to clear items are displayed on the total -



PS. I dont know why you guys thought the voice was too quiet - ours is so loud that someone has taped up one of the speakers on each machine to try and quieten it!

I agree with all your comments the new software seems to be more reliable as in not as much reeboting required.
-It should definitely have a Woolworhts logo on the screen.
-The own bag and new bag buttons were working last week but today it just kept saying there was an unexpected item even after pressing own bag. But when it worked last week it worked well!
-Hardly any reduced to clear stickers scan on our self serve... IT says that the new software has trouble reading such long barcodes (these stickers were made for self serve!!?? silly people)
-Maybe IT can adjust the volume and yours was just louder to begin with.

everything like reverted to september 30, all posts, rep, infractions since then were gone. then i cleared cookies, all that stuff came back, but anything i posted in the time-warp is gone :S

Does anyone know if the Department Specific Instore Induction (Phase 3) can be postponed? Is it a group thing? Because it falls on my graduation night (which I had clearly specified on my availabilities). I'm already unable to do training before exams (I had also told them that time was unavailable to me, yet they still scheduled training on those days), will they not want me anymore?

Townieeeeee, how far away is your store from Crows Nest (North Bridge)?

My SSM gave me one. I thought only 3IC, 2IC and CSM wore them. But whoever is on service apparently MUST wear them (at my store any way). So if there are 3 of us supervising, we all wear them.

I'm closing tonight too. 17.30-24.30 gayyy. Might get someone to take a pic of me while at work with the vest on...cos there is never anything to do after like 10.30...dont have to deal with customers cos they go through Self Serve =D This is why I love supervision and S/S

yay, magazine online returns 2morrow, will let everybody know how it went.

also, what do peeps think of making this thread more global, i'm thinking of a "Bored of Woolworths" FB group? anybody be interested. that way we might get some more inside goss/views on new SCO's/etc
