Is there a pill you can go on that reduces the number of periods you have, like you have say 8 weeks of active pills rather than 4?

yeah but i'm not sure it's available in australia.

it's called seasonal or something.

you get your period four times a year instead of twelve.

EDIT; seasonique is available in australia.

Or you can just skip the sugar pills and have your period when you want, which is what I do (though this requires a monophasic pill).

I haven't had a period/withdrawal bleed for almost a year.

I'm actually getting the Implanon inserted tomorrow. Is there anybody here who have/had it? If so, how did your body respond? Any severe side effects? No side effects? I appreciate your comments :)
my friend has had an implantation for about 5 years now and she hasn't had a period in that time. (that's an awesome side effect in my book!).

what would be cheaper though?

i'm on yasmin and it's about $65 for three months, which would turn into $380 per year.

which is actually less than i thought. but, i can't find how much seasonique is. ?

Yeah I'm on yaz which is like $70 for 3 months (from chemist warehouse, which is the cheapest place I've found them).

So skipping sugar pills gets pricey.

I do like what yaz has done for my skin, but if seasonique has similar effects I wouldn't mind 4 periods a year.

Kwayera, what has yours got in it? i was on microgynon for a while and that was much cheaper but it wasn't strong enough for me.

scarybunny, where i live there's a chemist warehouse just down the road from bova's and bova's is cheaper. i went to chemist warehouse hoping to get it cheaper but sadly no.
i think that blooms in cronulla was actually the cheapest but it's annoying to get to so i don't bother.

I was on monofeme when I was 18-19 and it was no good for my skin or PMS. Not sure what's different about yaz but I've felt practically no side effects.

If I could find a nice generic pill with no pms and good skin, I'd swap. My doc probably recommended yaz because they pay him eh...

I'm surprised there isn't a generic version of Yaz :/

Actually no. I've already been through the first stage of the process, gone through the who what when where why and how. I'm still looking to hear about some bosers experiences.
And it's not inserted in my 'baby maker' lol. It's inserted into my arm.
Now who's the stupid one.
My bad, thought it was the internal one.

i've been on Norimin for about nine months and whilst it's controlling my periods and preventing me from falling pregnant, my mood swings are exceptionally erratic and i get terrible cramps to the point where i feel like someone is carving out my uterus with a small spoon and that i might vomit. my moods swings are that bad even my boyfriend has noticed that they get worse and worse each time.

so, as soon as i can, i plan on changing my dosage or completely changing the brand. i'm sick of the side effects!

My gf was on some expensive one I dont remember the name but it was like $70 for a month (or maybe three months? Im not sure - it might have been yaz), now she's on Levlen ED and its sooooo much cheaper. Remember to try and get one that's on the Pharmeceutical Benefits Scheme, if possible.
