I don't feel any truth beyond myself and I don't find anything particularly amazing about humans that should warrant such a belief. We're an abhorrent species, tbqh and the fact that 6 month old babies can get raped and tortured while your benevolent God looks on sickens me to the point of no return.

Basically, if I am completely wrong and there is a God, I don't want to be associated with him in any shape or form.

This also leaves me befuddled. Sure suffering exists and God allows it, but Christ Himself was sent to die the most gruesome death imaginable at the time. Would you refuse to acknowledge God because of the supposed cruelty of this supposed indifference? Much grace and love can shine thru similar tragedy, if we only overcome ourselves and trust in Him. Death is not final and faith is not finite. Joy cometh in the morning and Hope in the victory of Life springs eternal

To take a simple example: before undertaking a drug trial to assess the efficacy of a pharmaceutical product it is, in general, inappropriate to believe that a drug works or that it does not work - as either belief may lend itself to harm if a drug is inappropriately harmed or witheld. Rather, one should withold assent to either option until suitable evidence has been collected. Consider also the different questions of whether the number of trees in NSW are even, rather than odd, in number, whether there is a prime between 10^10^10 and 10^10^11, and whether it will rain in Sydney on February 10th 2015. Agnosticism is neither bogus nor some purely theoretical wank which has no place in ordinary life or experience.

Um...

a) Monkeys have eyes similar to ours.
b) Many, many other animals (including ones we diverged from a long time ago evolutionarily) have eyes similar to, but more complex and powerful than ours... including many species of monkey. Our eyes, like our physical strength and our sense of smell, have largely devolved in place of our other abilities, mainly mental acumen.
