All I know is I wish all servos and petrol brands agreed on homogeneous products and content so they can have consistent naming conventions everywhere.

780 km is my best between fuel stops at 68L
68/7.8
=8.7 L/100km
i ran the car out of fuel entirely (50m short of petrol station) and it was all highway driving.

Usually i sit at about 10.1 though. i'm content with that

the bike does 210 km with 9 L of fuel
9/2.1
=4.29 L/100k

$12 to fill up lol

just build your own thermal cracking plant and some knowledge on hydrocarbons
Nuh-uh,
Catalytic ftw!

LOL.
If RON 91 is phased out, what will I do?!
I don't want to buy premium unleaded!

Easy. Switch to the (not-any-more-environmentally-friendly) ethanol blends or upgrade to the (nearly-as-good-as-98-but-not-quite) 95 RON Premium.

Ethanol blends makes my car idle roughly and generally makes for a worse driving experience (not to mention the higher fuel consumption), so RON 95 here I come! :haha:

I complained to my local Caltex yesterday... out of the 8 or so pumps they have, the 4 which have 98 were full up. The rest only had 91 ethanol or 95. If they want people to move on up to the higher grade stuff, make it more available and don't make me sit in a queue to get it.

Yes I'm a whinger.

My current car: 1998 Toyota Camry 2.2 4 cyl manual. 70L tank.

best tank 6.9L/100km, so theoretical range on one tank = 1000+ km. worst tank 9.7L/100km. Average over the past 9000km is 8.5L/100km.

I drive very little so with a 70L tank it's a LONG time between fill-ups, the last one was only about 3/4 empty and lasted 2.5 months.

I had a 94 Celica manual with the same engine as the camry and weighed 250kg less that got 9-10L/100km, but I drove it harder.

Also had a 1989 Corolla SX (with 20-valve engine) which dipped into the 6s going down the Hume (3300rpm at 110km/h was annoying though).

My dad's 3.4 petrol A/T Prado uses up to 20L/100km, with 11 possible on a highway. A mate with a tuned R32 Skyline GTR gets 20L+/100km.

he tuned it badly then because fuel consumption almost directly relates to weight and power.

Actually you'll find it can be affected more by wind resistance. Putting an RB20 into a van with no aerodynamic styling will use more fuel at a given speed than an aerodynamic sports car of the same mass.

Weight and power are the same, but the faster you drive, the higher your fuel consumption.

Of course driving style affects it the most - driving a 4WD can use the same amount of fuel as a Falcodore depending on how much you know about combustion and energy use.
