Old 4-strokes are average, XR250 clones so boring. 600cc+ are only good as road bikes, too heavy for tight stuff, cunt to kick over. little DT yamaha is just perfect, fun fun fun.

RM250 was quite evil, tried to kill me.

2-strokes are awesome, so long as they are old, tiny, with no actual power.

New 4-strokes are mostly too high maintenance. WR250R, or possibly DRZ400 looks like the perfect dirt bike.

They say top end every 50 hours. I like to ride often, so that sounds unfortunate.

No one I know can afford a good 4-stroke, so idk.

2 bangers are the shiz. Cunts just need to learn how to ride them properly to get the most out of them. Simple and powerfull what more could you want. Rebuilds are easy too because you can change a piston in a half hour for like <$200. Long live the 2 stroke.

Heaps of 2-strokes are learner legal. Any 250 2-stroke built before about 1986 is learner legal.

Including these,

The above ebay bike would be a 250, and not the substantially more powerful 350, at least as far as the RTA is aware...

Which is why I posted a pic of an RG250 and not an RGV. They're as different as an R32 and an R35 skyline. Anything 2-stroke, before and including an RG is learner legal.

What do you call this then?
