Imo, the problem lies in nuclear families being held up as the 'perfect' way to be brought up. I mean, let's face it...increasingly, they exist alongside all sorts of other families, yet are still upheld as some sort of magical formula...and time and time again, it's the kids who suffer most. I still feel 'dirty' because of my family situation, even though I *know* there are many others in the same situation.
