Re: so, how important are you trials...

Aren't they?

I found 3 unit HSC last year to be substantially harder than 3 unit Trial. Similar case with 2 unit HSC too...
Coz i herd quite the opposite from my friends that already done the HSC

and they sed that it is harder than the HSC

Well, it's all perception. Think about it, we do Trial HSC like 2 months before the real HSC. Of course, they would find Trial more difficult because they are under-prepared.

The Trial paper is easier in my opinion but people just find it more difficult due to less preparation.

Yeh you're probably right, it could be based on peoples preparation.

But i'm not quite a expert on this stuff so i wouldn't know, its just that i herd that it was actually harder than the HSC. :)

Ye, that's true. It depends on Trial papers too lol. There are like 200-300 past papers arund the state and they vary in terms of difficulty anyway haha

Re: so, how important are you trials...

My schools pretty stupid

like in Physics for eg,

our prac test has a 20% weighing, the test was out of 20, thus each exam mark was worth 1 mark, to the total coarse weighing/ 100
Then in the trials its a 30% weighing, and i think the test is /100 therefore every 1 mark in the test is only 0.3 marks

In our school for science subjects your ranks really depend on how well you go/ screw up in prac exams

but in maths we've got 40 - 50 % weighings

Re: so, how important are you trials...

for chem, our HOMEWORK (writing up dot points, pracs, review qus from textbook) was worth 35%, the trials being only 20%.. seriously the balancing of assesment weighting at our school is retarded -.-

Re: so, how important are you trials...

the trials only seem hard cause they are a replica of the HSC exam so its all psyhcological your brain is telling you this is HSC OMG hard!. Don;t think about them in terms of difficulty but rather just as a test.

My Trials are weighted: (%)
ENGLISH: 30
EE1: 30
FT: 20
BIO: 35
GEO: 35
CHEM: 35 --> One i'm most worried about
