MY Parents are overreacting to MY HSC and Asking OTHER PEOPLE'S PARENT FOR ADVISE... Then they come home and bitch about how some of their friends kids got whatever UAI and then they bitch and moan even moar about me! Since I have a brother that did poorly to HSC now they putting the pressure on ME... Rather irritating. I KNOW that they CARE... but its too much:mad1:. Are all parents like this?

Your HSC.
Your way.
You are doing your own HSC, no one else is doing it for you.

Further explanation to parents, guardians and superiors is best complimented with this video:

Unless you bring it up with them, they're going to think that the pressure they're putting on you is acceptable.
If you want them to stop, you need to communicate that with them.

Yeah my parents do like comparisons. I have to get over 99.75 =D, since my mum's friend's daughter got 99.75 and she went to NSG, so because I'm in Ruse I must be better.

yeh, all parents are like that... It's actually better than having parents that don't care about your education.

my parents won't rest till i get tutoring for ALL my subjects including 3 seperate tutors for english. its such a pain. they even said they'd give me $5000 if i get over 99 which is basically immpossible for me.

they make constant comments like, what are u gonna do when u fail the HSC to try and get me to work harder

omg...dont u ever feel tired of studying? ur parents need to take a chill pill and calm down and understand that there are other pathways in life...university is not the ultimate goal in life...

i heard this on the news - some parent even bribe the teacher to get the exam paper and then get a group of uni students to write their son's reponses and dictate it thru an ear piece to their son during the exam. they ended up in jail ....

My mum and dad are polar opposite; my Dad heaves on the pressure, referring often to the considerable school fees that he pays, while my mum is anxious for me to be relaxed, and would rather that I fail then stress out. They're divorced, and I have a half-week, half-week arrangement going, which makes my own feelings towards the HSC rather complicated...

My mum doesn't really care, she's happy that I've just finished high school, haha, anything else is a bonus XD
I put the pressure on myself.

as i mentioned a lil while ago, my parents are pressuring me bcuz my bro stuffed up. Nowadays, they are attacking him via psychosocial means...In another word, threatening him that they will kick him outta teh house, mocking how immature he is (he is 19 and he acts like a 9 yo :)uhoh: Poor me! I have to put up with his crap for another 50 years!)). In conclusion, Being Asian is not that much of a good thing ='(
