Yeah not a huge Gallen fan myself either but for so many people heseems to be such a must have I concede there must be something i'm missing about him. In my opinion he is one of the games better backrowers but he's not in a clearcut group of the best players and he just seems to do a handfull of really stupid things each game that just make him not worth it. I'd much rather a Fitzgibbon or a Hindmarsh to Gallen.Just as long as Gallen isn't named in the side for the 3rd game, I'm pleased. I hope Wing plays.
My side would probably look something like this
1. Gidley
2.Lawrence
3. Morris
4. Lyon
5. Hayne
6. Barrett if available, if not Mullen
7. Hornby/Pearce(little confidence in either)
8. Fitzgibbon
9. Farah
10. Weyman
11. Hindmarsh
12. Creagh
13. O'donnell
14. Wing
15. Learoyd Lahrs
16. Poore
17. Watmough
I don't think there is a genuine appreciation of the defensive work Hindmarsh and Fiztgibbon did 03-06. I appreciate they aren't the physical forces they were back then by Johnson is the only one in QLD that comes close to the constant, robust tackling those two used to contribute.
On Hornby I think NSW haven't looked too bad considering Wallace has really utterly failed to succesfully spread the ball wide and give his five eight some genuine playmaking opportunities I think desperately someone who is a cool head who won't go Kimmorley on us and will pretty much allways get the basics right is a must. The fact that Hornby plays for the inform side and trains with Poore, Weyman and Creagh is a bonus.
I wouldn't drop Farah, he played well in origin one and has allways shown himself to be a class act for wests, an off game where he supposedly carried injury isnt enough to sack him. Plus Ennis is a wanker.
