98 would get me into a good Arts/Engineering course as UNSW and Sydney, but I'm not sure which type of Engineering I want to do. From what I've heard, it's easy to transfer from 1 type to another in your second year, so if all goes downhill ATARwise, 80+ will suffice for Civil Engineering, and then if I don't like it I can transfer.

lol at the commerce and economics.

i rekon UAI 100 EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Qauntum physics bitchezzzzzzzz

Thats how i duz cuz

no but seriously 100 UAI guys.
omg physics. gangsta.

I might not do eng/commerce anymore...
The unsw guy at the smh expo said it isnt worth the extra 1.5 years, and its boring apparantly...
so I might just do photovoltaic engineering @ unsw then :) but still thinking about it...
I would pick Engineering if I were you.

@ UNSW:
Either
Computer Science or
Computer Science/Civil(probably) Engineering.

Not sure if it's worth doing the extra years for engineering.. I know it's good for job security and shit in the future, but I'm not aiming to be an Engineer?

Also, agree with the above. Hurrah for HSC PLUS!
Either is good.

Hmm well im thinking....

UNSW - Bachelor of Engineering - Civil

When do the uni's change the entry marks?
they changed the cutoff from 2007's 85 to 88 for 2008.
shouldnt be much.

the arts component is much easier.
when i do 1 arts elective (easy) and 3 engineering electives (moderate to difficult) i found it to be quite a relief.
you can only do 1 transfer per semester at unsw provided your grades are ok.
the cutoff for engineering/arts and engineering itself should be the same.
you need only apply through UAC if the cutoff is higher for your desired course to transfer into, say, engineering/commerce

Hmmm, I find the "applying" bit quite confusing. Sounds quite amateurish, I know.

To shady145: yes, I was considering the elite students scheme. Pretty much exactly what I want to do, coursewise, but I don't yet know if I want to go to Sydney Uni or UNSW.

I advise strongly against studying Engineering at USYD, their engineering programs are outdated.

Re: Future Plans: What UAI/course/job are you aiming for?

Hopefully aiming for around 86, but UTS business would be awesome (city campus), but if not.... what are peoples thoughts on economics or applied finance at macquarie??????

is an 86 achievable with my current rankings:

Eco 6/27
Gen maths 2/80
Adv eng 58/89
Ancient 14/27
Bio 16/56
RE 1 unit 60/120

......plus my school is ranked around 100 ( well, last year anyway..)

Either:
B Engineering(mechatronic)/B science(physics) - cause it pays
B Comp science/B science(physics) - cause i'm good at it
B Advanced science(mathematical physics) - cause its cool

I'll stick with photovoltaic engineering @ unsw then :)
might as well apply for co-op too...
