Vista is slow, buggy, takes a huge amount of system resources, costs a fourtune and even with the latest and greatest hardware you still get worse performance than XP. Windows 7 should be pretty good though.

sigh, inexperienced computer users
okay heres what you do
theres a feature in vista32 and 64bit systems
called ReadyBoost
basically it uses flash memory
as a drive for disk cache yea
anyways here is an excellent guide
on how to use ReadyBoost

Speed up Your Windows Vista Computer with ReadyBoost :: the How-To Geek

requirements is
a usb flash memory stick that is the size
equivalent to your ram
we want a 1:1 ratio
eg: 4 gig ram with 4 gig usb get it ?

i have a pretty good gaming computer
so this was actually theoritically useless
for me, an 8 gig system .. insane yer ? LOL
anyways, i have 4 harddrives, so bootup
u could imagine VERY VERY FUCKING SLOW
about 30 seconds,
i used ready boost
and bootup time decreased by a massive
13 seconds, so mind you, you should notice a
difference in bootup time as well as gaming performance
and application performance ( photoshop etc)

oh by the way vista haters
FUCK YOU
VISTA FOR THE WIN !

Seriously...WTF is wrong with you and your sentences.

BTW, the USB stick has to be readyboost quality or perform fast enough to be used for "virtual" RAM

All these people baging vista don't have a clue what theyre talking about.

It may use more RAM than xp but whos gives a shit, who the fuck is running <1G of RAM anymore.

Vista had problems on release (as xp did...) but since service pack 1 its far, far better than xp.

Ones hates it, and others hate it for the same reasons. There's a difference between sheep and people who all recognise the same smell of shit when they catch a whiff.

Luckily for Microsoft they decided to abandon it.

I don't know whats worng with all you people, I have been using Vista since November last year, and except for the first week i havnt had any major problems with it that i (good with computers, but not great) could not fix.

People are very similar to sheep (trust me, i have spent most of the afternoon surrounded by both), if one goes somewhere or does something, the rest will follow. XP ultra-loyalists, try and have some patience to learn how to use new technology, and persevere with it.

Everyone to their own oppinion i suppose. No point arguing about personal preferences.
I think most people will agree Windows 7 should be good though. Better than both XP and Vista.

No, i stick to my opinion, others can stick to theirs. I'm just over the whole vista/XP debate cause it never gets anywhere. A diehard XP enthusiast will never be able to convince a Vista enthusiast that XP is better, or vice versa.
