last I heard, he had about a million girlfriends. Who knows though? he could be. I think it'd be fantastic if he is, so many little girls around the world would be heartbroken. But I doubt it.

how is that lol? I'm guessing you're a LOTR fan who neither despises HP or just thinks they can't be compared, while they can't be compared writing wise, they can be genre wise, they are both fantasy, adventure fiction.

nah i'm just a fan of good literature.
lord of the rings is decent literature wise- but its context of bringing fantasy into the realms of popular culture and establishing the various conventions which have become the staple of fantasy means it will always be revered.

harry potter is fucking trash writing. rowling has one redeemable quality as an author; and thats her ability to storytell, the premise behind the series is superb. but her actualy writing quality is just poor.
