Last year before my chemistry exam, A dude fainted at the front of the classroom.

THe lecturers didnt notice for quite a while......
lol but the students were just staring at the dude on the floor in shock.

(this popped in my mind while reliving "memories" with friends)

Any other similar things happen with you guys ?

I've almost been hit a few times by buses....

on MARKED CROSSINGS.

I just looked at the bus driver's in disgust, they couldnt be bothered waiting 2.3 seconds for me to cross.

(Has happened at Central and Granville station)

I deleted my other thread.

Omium from other thread said:
Is it me or are 90% of textbooks completely and utterly useless ?

Over the past year and a bit, I have only found 1 textbook very useful and another one slightly useful.

My second year textbooks make me more confused about the subject matter,
After a quick reference to wikipedia i understand the concept very well.

I find it extremely stupid how in my second year physics textbooks they barely derive any of the formulas and simply present an explanation like "the maths will not be presented here"

I dislike the fact that they are so brief in their descriptions.

FINALLY, WHY on earth would you make a textbook with NO ANSWERS !, i don't want solutions, just freaking scribble down a number at the end of the book so i have a brief idea if i got it right.

NOTE to Bookwriters: If your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th editions sucked so bad WHY THE HECK would you make a 6th edition.
Your sales might have been good, but have you ever thought that its because gullible students simply bought what their lecturer (who doesnt know what a computer is) told them ?

/end rant.

What are your experiences with textbooks ?

That.
Often when practice/past tests are released online they come with solutions.
What I hate is the answers can be so brief they can no longer be understood and/or taken seriously.
i second this post

Oh, if they do provide "solutions" they use obscure mathematical methods that your not supposed to know.

how a real physicist does it

1) purchases a very small amount of c4, enough to blow up a table.
2) using appropriate apparatus, records the specific radio frequency signals the guy uses on his phone
3) sets the detonator on the c4 to explode when specific radio frequencies are encountered
4) glues c4 under desk
5) stands a safe distance from test subject with pen and paper.
6) after explosion, measures distance debris has flown from blast
7) compare with own predictions
8) ???
9) profit?

i'm not anti-semitic anyway

I'm sure it's been said, but this week that they'd like to call a break. Where did the time go? :( I have an exam, an essay and a report due Monday. And other shit the rest of the week. Stupid UNSW. Stupid work, making me work all weekend. Kill me now. :(

Should I go to the Keane concert tomorrow?

This brings a tear to my eye.
