My computer is officially a beast. It found two zeroes of the Riemann Zeta function to within 0.00014904 of each other.

You need to show the method. Otherwise how does accuracy determine a fast machine? I'm sure a 486 can do it...in a few hours.

Surely it's easier to say, finding out 1 million decimal points of pi in x sec in Mathematica/Maple.

Anyone care to beat that using a FX55?

It's an attempt to "prove", at least empyrically, and by brute force, that the Riemann Zeta Hypothesis is true, by calculating as many zero's as possibly. The distribution of zeros is similar to the distribution of primes. It has been assumed it is true, but not proven, yet.

Prove it, get $1 million. Simple. Or not.

I highly, highly, doubt it will be proven this way. But it is interesting, nonetheless.

Basically, this is SETI@Home but instead of finding aliens, you're finding Zeta roots.
