Does everyone know here that even if you don't think you'll get many payments from youth allowance because your working casually, its still worth applying for youth allowance just to be able to get the two scholarship payments a year?
All you need to do is earn ore than $1 of youth allowance per semester and you get the payment. So if most fortnights you earn too much in your casual job to get a payment, in the weeks you work less due to assignments etc and you get a small payment from youth allowance low and behold you are now elligible for your $2200 a year tax free even though you may not consistently be in the youth allowance income threshholds each fortnight.
