Does anyone have any tips for remembering which is the x, and which is the y axis on a graph?

umm

spose u can remmber this way..

the Y axis has an axis of symmetry right down the middle.. a straight line right trhough.. so thats the y-axis .. up and downn

the x-axis.. has an axis of symmetery side ways. -----X----- so its x-axis.. sideways

but u should know it fairly asily aftr a couple of times

X comes before Y.
X is required to find Y.

X , Y is sorta like left, right. You will know it if you use it often enough, which you will if you're doing any maths subject?

Another way,

Vertically - y is the vertical axis. The other one is X.


btw.Slidey, you could just as well find X with Y?

I honestly have no idea.

But then again, I was using them to draw stuff using basic like a decade ago. Well maybe not quite that long, but close.

davidbarnes, are you just starting maths?
