James Bond's Aston Martin crashes into lake

The Aston Martin due to be used by James Bond in the latest film about the secret agent has been crashed into Italy's Lake Garda.

A stunt driver was on his way to deliver the £120,000 sportscar to the set of Quantum of Solace when he drove off a narrow bend in heavy rain, producers said.

Italian television showed the car - reportedly the only one available for the film - being fished from the lake after the accident in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Producers said the driver, who suffered only minor bruises, was quickly rescued by firemen and taken to hospital.

The latest film in the long-running 007 series stars Daniel Craig and is due for release later this year.

It has so far been filmed on location in England, Panama, Chile and Mexico, with a further trip to Spain still coming up.
The only thing wrong with the article is that is claims there was only one car being used for the entire sequence, which is false: the film crew are using no less than five (four now).

But what a way to destroy the car: ironically, the car that went for a swim was to be used for a scene were Bond escape his pursuers by way of an exploding truck that plunges into the lake below ...
