is it when the plane of the detector loop is parallel or perpendicular to the plane of the transmitter.

jacaranda says that its max when theyre parallel and cambridge says theyre max when theyre perpendicular.

i dunno which to trust

and i dont really get it either, could someone explain why its max at which angle

Its when the transmitter is parallel, this is because there cannot be a voltage without a change in flux and their cannot be a change in flux if it is perpendcular, in accordance with faradays law.
