Right now i am doing:
(Mark and rankings on my half yearly report)

Maths Ext 1 - 91 % 13 / 70

English as Second Language - 90% 1 / 8

Physics - 93 % 2 / 43

Software Design & Development - 85% 6 / 14

Business Studies - 78 % 29 / 56

Korean Background Speakers - 85% 6 / 53

I am not sure whether to drop Business Studies or Software Design..
I like BS more than SDD.. but because i am ESL student, it is hard for me to study BS.... any advices?

Business Studies since you are finding it difficult and you are not doing as well in it as you are in your other subjects.

How can you do EX1 and ESL?
Shouldn't it be EX1 + Adv. English?

Your ranking ratios are almost similar for both software design and business, but SDD wins. Probably dropping business studies would be the wise choice.

Remember, while studying, it's the amount of effort (quality) you put into study each day, not the amount of time (quantity) put into study. You can stare a textbook for 4 hours and not learn anything but on the other hand, you can study really hard in an hour and learn more in comparison. I don't do much study at all consistently per day :(.

Dropping Business Studies seems like a way to go.

business studies.

but, follow your heart. you might want to become some entrepeneur business studies teacher when you're older & forever live with the guilt of dropping it back in year 11...

sum up the pros & cons. talk to career person/subject person/teachers.

You don't know what might happen next year. I reckon just keep it for a week or two, then decide.

Haha drop whatever line gives you the best frees....

I mean unless you really like that subject. But dropping bio for yr 12 means 4 days a week ill come to school late and/or leave early

aw yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

BTW, dont get all self-righteous on me and go on about work ethic - i also genuinely dont like the subject and its in my best interests to drop it.

have a sit down and really think about what YOU think and want to do.
weigh up the pros and cons on dropping/keeping a subject.
if you find it better to drop to 11 units then have a think about what subject you LEAST like doing.

personally i'd much prefer to drop my LEAST favourite subject [geography]
than drop the subject im going worst in [advanced maths, i think.]

i think you should drop your least favourite subject too rather than what you're doing not as well in.

my reason is that you would be more m otivated to work and study for the HSC in a subject that interests you, than a subject that does not appeal as much but you are getting a good mark now for.

business could have just been a prelim slip-up.. you never know, you could suddenly do really well in the subject with effort.

on the other hand, with SDD, it could just be some luck in the subject.. but luck is not long-lasting, so then you may well do the worst in that next year.

therefore, I believe you should DROP SDD, keep business and work harder at it for the HSC.
