Hey guys,
I logged onto the Macquarie University student portal today and clicked on 'my finances'. I was shocked to find out that two of my subjects, economics (ECON110) and statistics (STAT170), were highlighed in RED already and were classified as 'overdue'.

My question is: isn't the census date on the 31st March and will I be penalised since I still haven't handed in my HECs yet? Also, do I still have to pay my students amenities fee if I withdraw from my course now (strange question I know)?

Don't worry too much, it's normal. Has happened to me every single semester since starting uni. Usually once the census date passes the red highlights go away. I think they just need time to process everything.

Hi there OP. My fees for s1 are also in red. But do not fear! If you have successfully completed your HECS form then all you have to do is wait till two weeks after the census date and then the fess will be transferred to the ATO. You will know if you have been successful in getting HECS if you receive Tax Invoices form them...
