What happens if in the future, a course is only available for Semester 1 or only available for Semester 2, but I can’t fit it into my five year degree because of that restriction. For example, what if in my third year, 5 of my courses can only be done in Semester 1 and they are all required for a particular major? Would I suddenly not be able to achieve a particular major because I would have to not do one of these courses? Would I have to expand my degree by a year?

Plan it out and ensure you have flexibility so that you aren't just doing 4 courses that can only be done in semester 1.

Plan it. Ask the faculty student centre for help if needed

Your school should have an academic plan for you to follow with your program. Generally, as long as you pass everything and don't have to repeat or transfer, you should be good to complete your program when following the advised academic plan.
