"ways of identifying metals"
so far ive got:
flame test
conductivity

Additional solid metal properties:
Hardness
Strength

This lot is way beyond the scope of your assignment, but if you want to list them in passing and investigate one or two.

If you are looking to analyse metals in water, foods, medicines etc.

atomic absortion spectroscopy
complexometric titration

If you are looking to analyse a lump of metal.

chemical testing

dissolving some metal and complexing, then using visible spectroscopy to compare against known samples.
dissolving some metal and test against anions. (yr12 stuff)
construct a cell with the sample as an electrode and measure the voltage.
construct a cell with the sample as an electrode and compare the voltage on addition of same metal ions.

destructive testing

tension testing ~ strength, malleablilty (elastic modulus)
charpy impact testing ~ ductility (fracture energy)

non-destructive testing

microhardness testing (hardness, related to strength)
x-ray crystallography
