I didnt go to the open day back in september though, so does anyone know if itll be pretty much a repeat of that? Or not as extravagant? In september i heard something about a free BBQ? lol...


Also, at the Macquarie open day in september (which i did go to) they had all these kind of "stalls" set up for each degree where you could go sit at and talk to an advisor of some sort... does anybody know if they will be having those tomorrow at USYD?

lol it's unlikely you'll get much free stuff, out of all the open days i went to (Usyd, UTS, UNSW, Notre Dame) usyd was the worst in terms of freebies. Well i was invited to a breakfast thing for the high UAI achievers at the 2009 Open Day but the majority of people attending will walk away with a bag full of course info booklets. Other unis, like UTS actually give out heaps of freebies like itunes downloads, ice-cream, drinks etc all day.

Some of my friends put UTS as one of their top preferences because they got loads of free stuff on the open day.

i went there, and man it was soo dead today! there was like hardly anyone there!
all i did was talk to the commerce person and the science person and the pharmacy person... i didnt go to any lectures or anything.... it was pretty boring imo, we also looked at the museum and walked around the grounds.

the only free things i got was a fan and a couple of free slurpees, and they were all melted

That's because it's actually a good uni and doesn't need to bribe people to go there. We get the best anyway.

Yes i'm aware, after being at usyd for a year. Many of my non-usyd friends called it cheap for not giving out many freebies, but i know they would rather spend their money on superior facilities and so on. Nevertheless, after going to the Usyd Open Day last year it was quite nice to later accompany my UTS-preference friends to their open day and to be showered with freebies

The fan is douchey "I'm a fan". Its obviously done to put a tease on the educational so called 'standards' they offer because the students generally have high ATARS. USYD are wankers thinking they're better than everyone.

because everyone went in september. i was gonna go again, got to Petersham train station then was like nah fuck it, so walked home and had the worst nap in my fucking life. i fail at napping, it gives me a headache worse than a hangover

I was able to scab a pen from the Health Sciences stall because I couldn't find mine
