what do these mean:

u, v, u_x, v_x, u_y, v_y

i know:
u = Initial velocity
v = final velocity
u_x = Initial horizontal velocity
v_x = Final Horizontal velocity
u_y = Initial vertical velocity
v_y = Final vertical velocity

But What does this even mean.....
I have an exam on monday, so any help ASAP would be appreciated

Initial velocity means the velocity at the start. And final velocity means the velocity at the end.

When they say velocity only they mean horizontal and vertical combined. So you need to break it into vectors to find out. Hope this helps somewhat...
