University Admission with bad ATAR (1 Viewer)

Is there still a chance i can get into the university course i want (mechanical engineering) If i get a bad ATAR due to my bad marks in compulsory subjects (English and Religion) if i still rip up in relevant subjects like Physics, Chem, Maths etc??

Depends on your overall ATAR and if you qualify for bonus points. Just check the cutoff and see if they offer bonus points, then use a reverse ATAR calculator to see how much marks you need for the required ATAR.

How many units are you doing?

If only 10 then 40% of your ATAR will depend on English and Religion. If 11 then 1 unit of Relgion won't count and if you are doing 12 then it is possible that only the English will count - so now only 20% of your ATAR will depend on the compulsory subjects at your school.

UNSW has bonus points and UWS has low cut offs and so does UNCLE so there's always a chance.
